Waterproof Measures for Buried Transformer

2023-09-06

1. Anti-water considerations during design and fabrication of buried transformer foundation:
Top: the ventilation hole has the ability to prevent rain and water;
Side: the side surface is treated with water-proof concrete material so that water seepage cannot invade from the side of the pit;
Bottom: The water-proof concrete bearing base for installing buried transformer is 300mm higher than the bottom surface of the pit. Usually, the water flowing from the ground to the pit flows on the ring road below the base and will not soak into the buried transformer.
2. The bottom of the buried transformer foundation is laid with water sand and pebbles, and the water can penetrate into the ground relatively quickly.
3. The buried transformer is allowed to operate below 0.5m immersed in water within a period of time, which can resist flood disasters and effectively improve the reliability of the power supply system. However, in order to ensure safe and reliable operation of buried transformers, it is recommended to check the accumulated water in the pit after floods, long-term rainstorms and rainy seasons. If there is more accumulated water, pumping and cleaning are recommended.
